Improving the security and access rights of shared information

The EAS was developed as part of a collaborative project between PA, the Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF), the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

The EAS is a technical solution to a business need.  Key elements of EAS are:

• authentication of users

• data sharing across multi departments

• validation of users

• data integrity maintained.

Benefits realised since the implementation of EAS are:

• delivered significant savings to the tax payer

• promoted more efficient, joined up and effective processes across local and central government departments and national partners

• reduced the burden of compliance on the end user.
