PA Consulting Group was engaged by this utility to review their asset management strategy and to design a program of work to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of mains renewal and replacement. The scope included an assessment of their systems, process, data, standards and operations. The goal was to determine how to align these business levers to make the best use of their capital funds for mains replacement/renewal; plus planning what needed to be done to determine how much should be spent on replacement/renewal, where expenditure should be targeted and how to track success for their customers, investors and regulatory bodies.
