Sheffield City Council spends around £330,000 annually on short-term hire of multiple vehicle types and as such identified an opportunity to source a new contract by eAuction. PA worked with the council to interrogate historical demand data from three vehicle hire suppliers, create a 'pricing matrix' containing over 100 permutations of vehicle type and hire duration and apply a weighting factor to each permutation within a pricing model featuring three eAuction Lots.
We advised on the selection of an eAuction provider and quality-assured the creation and management of the live eAuction. With the help of one week of input from PA the council achieved annual savings of 33% - over the lifetime of the new contract, this represents a return of around 40 times.
