Inalfa Roof Systems - restructuring in operations, engineering and purchasing
Inalfa Roof Systems, one of the international providers of this vehicle equipment, develops and assembles innovative car and truck roof systems for almost all global automotive manufacturers. The roof systems market is very competitive - only four companies compete for business with the major manufacturers. Small volumes per product, high degree of innovation in product concepts and small batch sizes in sourcing create risk of potential cost overruns in the business.
As part of the strategy responding adequately to these business risks, PA helped Inalfa plan and implement a fundamental restructuring programme in both Europe and the US - along core business areas in purchasing, engineering, operations.
During implementation phase of about four months a complete programme organisation has been built up and has delivered about 0.5% more EBIT margin for Inalfa during that period. Improvement activities and benefit realisation still continue with delivered annual savings of another 1.5% more EBIT margin.
