PA undertook a review on behalf of the UK Department for Transport of how GNSS are currently being used in a number of application areas, what improvements in service would be desirable to further enhance the market, and what role Galileo is likely to have in contributing to this. This review focused on a number of key platforms (in particular mobile phones, private motor vehicles, goods vehicles, trains and shipping) and applications (including location based services, road charging, regulatory enforcement and safety).
Finally PA identified what enabling actions should be taken at national or European Union (EU) level to facilitate market development.
