Dave Smith joins PA Consulting Group as Group Head of Technology

PA is delighted to announce that Dave Smith has joined PA Consulting Group this month as Group Head of Technology. Dave joins from technology consultancy, Roke Manor Research, where he was Managing Director for over five and a half years.

In his previous role at Roke, Dave was responsible for 450 employees, a turnover of £50M and developing a reputation for world-class research and development in both the defence and commercial sectors. During his time as MD, Roke won many awards for innovation, including the Queen’s Award in 2011, and grew rapidly.

During his 11 years at Roke, Dave pioneered expertise in cellular technology, wireless medical scanners and defence communications. Previous experience includes managing research in academia and the development of military communication solutions for the Ministry of Defence.

Dave joined Roke in 2000 and following the technology crash in 2001, he became head of Roke’s wireless business, building up the division on the strength of its expertise in cellular technology and defence communications. After five years in this role, Dave accepted the position of Managing Director. He latterly sat on the Siemens Global Technology management team.
