The article looks at how private-sector methods could be used to reduce costs as public sector managers start drawing up plans to cut costs over the next few years.
One of the techniques the article points to for businesses to free up cash or cut costs is renegotiating property leases or selling property. Commenting on this, PA’s Andrew Hooke says public bodies should regularly review their "structural" cost base – especially long-term property costs.
