PA’s Stephen Gallagher, business intelligence expert, is quoted in the Financial Times Future of Business special report. Stephen comments on “big data” and its potential to improve innovation, competition and productivity for companies.
The article points out that big data relies on more than just machine intelligence, and that you need human insight to interpret the data. According to Stephen, it is finding the right people to do this – especially at the right price – that could prove the biggest barrier to big data adoption for customers and service-providers alike.
Stephen comments: “There is a substantial supply-and-demand issue around analytical skills and I do not see that going away soon,” he says. “In fact, I think we can be pretty sure that it is only going to get worse.”
