Assessing the cyber security threat - Cambridge Cyber Security Conference
On 3 February 2011, Jon Moynihan, PA Consulting Group’s Executive Chairman, will be presenting at the Rustat Conference on Cyber Security – An Assessment of the Threats to National, Economic and Individual Security.
The conference, which brings together leading expert academics with senior decision makers from the government, private sector and media, will examine a broad range of questions and issues, and will set out to achieve a realistic assessment of the cyber threat.
Jon Moynihan will be speaking about cyber security and preparedness in the private sector, including collaboration between the public and private sectors, the scale and potential of the threat, and recommended strategies to manage and reduce the risks.
Cyber security has become a pressing issue for both governments and businesses around the world, with the type, frequency and severity of cyber attacks continuing to rise. Most organisations should plan to expect a persistent, targeted attack at some point; to combat the rise of cyber attacks, an effective strategy must address organisational and cultural aspects as well as information and technical security.
The conference will also consider different scenarios for responding to the cyber threat, the government and military perspective, governance in cyberspace and the threat to individuals and freedom online.
